We transformed a plain white wall into a focal point of desert character with custom built-ins filled with curated found antiques from @oliveateliers, adding a sense of history and warmth. The incredible woven photographs by Fernando Bengoechea sourced from @shopsupersimple Palm Springs, from his Karma Tree series, bring an ethereal calm and quiet beauty that anchors the room.

Overhead, custom beams by @foamtec2 add organic architecture and pull together the clean, natural palette — all grounded in the spirit of Modern Desert Living. Every detail in this space honors the power of thoughtful design: timeless materials, artisan work, and layered restraint.

We layered in tonal warmth with oatmeal-upholstered chairs and grounded the room with the sculptural Mahalo Tiered Pendant by @visualcomfort—its organic fan-like walnut tiers casting artful shadows by day and a soft glow by night.⁠

Designing a space in this client's Palm Desert home started with a clear intention: warmth, ease, and quiet sophistication. Every material, texture, and tone was selected to support that feeling—where minimalism still feels layered, and neutral doesn’t mean flat.⁠
⁠
We leaned into natural finishes—light wood, soft linen, creamy plaster, subtle stone—to create a palette that feels grounded and timeless. Nothing showy, but everything elevated.⁠
⁠
The earlier mood board helped us map the flow and harmony across the home. It’s how we knew the palette would carry beautifully from the living room to the bar area, and still feel cohesive without being repetitive.⁠

Comfortable, effortless, refined—that’s always the goal.

Sometimes dark and moody is the vibe. This Rancho Mirago Bathroom remodel was an exercise in marrying organic materials like Kintsugi zellige tile from WOW, travertine flooring, and beautiful modern Kohler fixtures into a harmonious and moody desert retreat. ⁠

An ongoing exploration of what midcentury can be — color-forward, material-rich, layered with nostalgia and reinterpreted through our lens. Mood boards and collages are part of how we form and sketch ideas before they become reality.⁠
